How we developed the CONNEX NB & CENTRIX ecosystem for automated remote utility data collection.

The Challenge

Read hundreds of different wM-Bus meters (water, heat, electricity, gas) remotely and reliably, without building expensive local infrastructure. And do it on a battery that lasts years.

The Solution

A complete system built on two things we made ourselves: the CONNEX NB gateway and the CENTRIX cloud platform.

How It Works

CONNEX NB Gateway

Our custom gateway listens for Wireless M-Bus communication (868 MHz) from end-meters. It filters data, stores it in internal FLASH memory, and operates autonomously for up to 10 years on battery power.

NB-IoT Connectivity

Instead of complex local network installations, CONNEX NB uses cost-effective NB-IoT carrier networks. Bi-directional communication enables remote configuration changes and over-the-air firmware updates.

CENTRIX Cloud Platform

Raw data hits CENTRIX and becomes useful. The platform handles AES decryption, wM-Bus protocol decoding, device health monitoring, and delivers clean numbers to billing systems.

The Result

Clean, real-time data. Ready to use.

The client gets clean, real-time consumption data. They don’t need to know how the meter talks to the gateway or how packets cross the mobile network. They just see accurate numbers, ready to use.
